AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE GOVERNING AUTHORITIES OF THE TOWN OF MARIETTA, MISSISSIPPI, TO ENTER INTO A WATER PURCHASE INTERLOCAL COOPERATION AGREEMENT WITH THE NEW SITE WATER ASSOCIATION, INCORPORATED; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. The governing authorities of the Town of Marietta, Mississippi, in their discretion, may enter into a water purchase interlocal cooperation agreement with the New Site Water Association, Incorporated, for a term of forty (40) years. The water purchase interlocal cooperation agreement may be entered into, ratified, adopted, approved and confirmed as determined by the United States Department of Agriculture. The Mayor and City Clerk of the Town of Marietta are authorized, directed and empowered to execute and deliver such agreement.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
